“Ensure safe evacuation of Indians”: PM Modi in meeting on Afghanistan News

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security this evening to assess the situation in war-torn Afghanistan . 

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval attended the meeting. Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla and Ambassador of Afghan. Rudendra Tandon were also present in the meeting. Ambassador Rudendra Tandon was evacuated from Kabul this morning itself.

According to sources, the Cabinet Committee on Security was briefed in detail about the current and evolving security and political situation in Afghanistan and the recent evacuation. 

The Prime Minister asked the officials to take all necessary measures to ensure the safe evacuation of Indian nationals from Kabul in the coming days.
